What We Fund
Intention. Respect. Care.
Rocky Mountain Montessori Foundation supports infants, toddlers, and families through two core initiatives designed to expand access to high-quality child care and strengthen Montessori-aligned learning environments in our community. Our programs focus on the earliest years of life — birth through age three — when development is most rapid and foundational.

Our Programs
Infant & Toddler Montessori Scholarship Fund
The Infant & Toddler Montessori Scholarship Fund provides targeted tuition assistance to families with infants and toddlers who face financial barriers to accessing high-quality, Montessori-aligned care in Jefferson County and the surrounding Southwest Denver metro area.
Licensed infant and toddler care is both scarce and costly, and many families are forced to make difficult decisions when quality options are out of reach. Through this program, the Foundation helps reduce the financial burden of care so children can experience stability, consistency, and nurturing environments during the most sensitive years of development.
Scholarships are awarded using clear, nondiscriminatory criteria based on financial need, age eligibility, and geographic focus. Funds are intended to support access to stable care and are typically applied toward monthly tuition at participating Montessori-aligned programs.
Program focus:
-
Children ages 0–3
-
Single parents, Parents in academic or training programs, and families experiencing financial barriers to care
-
Montessori-aligned infant and toddler programs
Intended outcomes:
-
Increased access to stable, high-quality early care
-
Reduced financial stress for families
-
Greater continuity of care during early childhood
Montessori Learning Environment Initiative
The Montessori Learning Environment Initiative strengthens the quality of infant and toddler care by investing directly in Montessori-aligned learning environments. This initiative supports one-time purchases that enhance the prepared environment — a core Montessori principle that recognizes the environment as an essential component of development.
Through this program, the Foundation provides funding for child-directed classroom and outdoor materials made from wood and natural elements, practical life and sensorial resources, nature-based outdoor learning materials, and state-approved eco-friendly cleaning supplies. These investments support healthy development while modeling respect for the child, the community, and the environment.
Funds are awarded to a Montessori-aligned infant and toddler program serving children ages 0–3. Materials are selected intentionally to support movement, independence, exploration, and calm engagement.
Program focus:
-
Montessori-aligned infant and toddler programs
-
Prepared environments using natural, developmentally appropriate materials
-
Indoor and outdoor learning spaces
Intended outcomes:
-
Strengthened learning environments for infants and toddlers
-
Increased engagement, independence, and comfort for young children
-
Support for respectful, developmentally appropriate care practices
How Support Makes an Impact
Donations to Rocky Mountain Montessori Foundation directly support these two initiatives. Contributions may fund tuition assistance for families, investments in prepared learning environments, or general program support that allows the Foundation to respond to community needs.
By pairing access with quality, our programs aim to support children’s development while strengthening families and early childhood environments across our community.
